A new milestone for tram line 10
In November 2021, the STIB submitted the planning application for the new tram line in Neder-Over-Heembeek: tram 10. This is a new milestone towards the completion of this new tram line which, with its 5.5 km route, will offer a new structuring and efficient service in the north of Brussels.
Public consultation is central to this project. From the beginning, residents and merchants have been involved in the process of developing plans for their district. Tailor-made communication has been put in place, including a dedicated website and public meetings.
The next steps will be an analysis of the permit application by Urban, the regional urban planning authority, the opening of a public inquiry and, lastly, the organisation of a consultation commission, after which Urban will issue its opinion. Work not related to the planning application, such as the utilities, began in the spring of 2022, while track laying is due to begin by the end of 2022.
